This Privacy Policy explains what information IELTS Band AI collects when you use our platform, how we use it, and what rights you have. We have written it in plain language — no legal jargon.
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to this policy. If you disagree, please do not use the Platform.
We never sell your data
Your personal information is never sold or shared with advertisers.
Audio is never stored
Speaking recordings are deleted immediately after transcription.
Delete anytime
You can delete your account and all data at any time from settings.
Information we collect
Account information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we cannot read it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. We never receive your Google password.
Test and evaluation data
When you take a test, we store your written essay or typed responses, your predicted band scores and AI feedback, the date and time of each submission, and your selected test type (Academic / General Training).
Speaking recordings
Speaking test audio is sent to our servers for transcription and AI evaluation. We do not store your audio recordings permanently. Audio files are deleted immediately after transcription is complete. We retain only the text transcript and evaluation scores.
Payment information
We do not store your card number, CVV, bank account, or UPI details. All payments are processed by Razorpay (PCI-DSS compliant, regulated by RBI). We receive only a payment confirmation token and your subscription status.
Usage data
We automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and time on the Platform. This is used only to fix bugs and improve performance.
How we use your information
We do not sell your data.
Your personal information is never sold to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with marketing companies.
AI processing & third-party services
AI evaluation of your writing and speaking is powered by third-party AI APIs. Your submissions are sent to these services for processing. Both operate under enterprise data processing agreements and do not use your data to train their public models.
Data retention
We retain your account data and test history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data and test results are permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated data (with no personally identifiable information) may be retained indefinitely for research and improvement.
Your rights
You have the right to access a copy of your data, correct inaccurate data, delete your account and all associated data, receive your test history in a portable format, and object to how we process your data. Security
We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure. However, no system is completely secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you notice a security issue, please report it to support@ieltsbandai.com immediately.
Children's privacy
The Platform is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account without parental consent, contact us and we will delete the account immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or with a notice on the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
